About us!

Worshipers are going round the sacred lake Gufa-pokhari

Indigenous people have their own ways of subsistence but these have been replaced by modern industrial economy and technologies. The marginalized and excluded indigenous people are not able to make use of or exposed to these modern techniques and inventions nor could they preserve indigenous knowledge and skills due to modernization.

For these people depending only on their indigenous knowledge and skills as well as following the modern tools and techniques have been a big challenge. To make indigenous people’s life easier, modern tools, techniques and system need to be introduced following the indigenous knowledge and taking into account their cultural norms, values and language. With an objective to execute programmes and activities aiming to uplift the lives of the indigenous people SiD Nepal is founded by some indigenous ethnic people. SiD Nepal is established in 2007; registered in the District Administration Office and is affiliated to Social Welfare Council.
