MISSION

SiD Nepal’s mission is to:

Generate support to implement programs at re-establishing indigenous knowledge and skills with modern tools and techniques

  1. Enhance self-employment through capacity building activities
  2. Consolidate multiculturalism and democratic values by bringing clarity on contentious social and cultural issues of indigenous ethnic people
  3. Protect and promote indigenous knowledge and skills at the national level as well as internationally.

OBJECTIVES

The major objectives of SID Nepal are to:

  1. Protect and promote indigenous knowledge and skills
  2. Carry out capacity building, income-generating activities aiming to uplift the lives of the indigenous ethnic people
  3. Carry out research to identify indigenous knowledge and skills
  4. Organize training, seminar, workshop and public meeting to aware on economic and social systems of Nepal and advocate for indigenous property rights and the prevalent systems of Nepal
  5. Protect and promote human rights, indigenous rights, women rights and indigenous property rights
  6. Work to create a peaceful and harmonious society
  7. Coordinate with national, regional and international institutions to promote indigenous knowledge and skills
  8. Carry out research to identify, describe and assess the nature and extent of various issues related to indigenous culture, literature, religion, language and script
  9. Carry out activities at protecting and promoting environment, natural resources like forest, water, medicinal plants etc.

 

WORKING STRATEGIES

SiD Nepal coordinate and work closely with both central and local agencies to avail opportunities for the locals to strengthen indigenous knowledge and skills as well as capacity building and awaring the locals. Youths at grassroots will be mobilized to generate indigenous force.
